Two Solar Systems, One Home in Ndhiwa
Ndhiwa in Homa Bay County has sunny skies and rich farmland, which makes it ideal for solar. This homeowner needed two things: reliable electricity for the house and a steady supply of water for the household, the garden and the farm, without paying for fuel or monthly power bills.
We designed and installed two independent solar systems on the same property. The first is a hybrid home power system with lithium battery storage that keeps the lights on day and night. The second is a dedicated solar water pumping system that runs the water pump directly from the sun, with no battery and no grid connection needed.

What These Systems Deliver
- ✓The whole house runs on solar during the day
- ✓10kWh of lithium battery storage keeps the lights on through the night and during blackouts
- ✓Automatic switching between solar, battery and grid, with nothing for the homeowner to do
- ✓Solar-powered water for the household, the garden and the farm whenever the sun is up
- ✓No generator: no fuel costs, no noise, no emissions
- ✓No fuel or electricity bills for pumping water
Project Highlights
Keeping the two systems separate means each one is sized for its job. The home system stores energy in a lithium battery for use after sunset. The pumping system sends solar power straight to the pump, the most cost-effective way to move water, because the water itself becomes the store.
The Sunware Energy team handled the full scope: site survey, system design, roof mounting, electrical wiring, inverter and battery installation, pump inverter setup, commissioning and handover. Both systems were sized for the household's actual power and water needs.
For homes and farms in Ndhiwa and across Homa Bay County, this is complete energy independence: clean power in the house and free water from the ground.
